hi i have just bought a eurovox maxv and i would like to ask you all for some help please,i would like to know what i need to do if anything to set yp the box,which codes ect do i need,i live in the manchester area any help much appriecated thanks...
click on the link in my signature and choose eurovox ,there are a few types so choose maxv. you will either need to download the most recent ufl file (which will contain both the firmware and the loader to put it in the box) or you will need to get dnupman loader and the most recent firmware seperatly. you will need a 9 pin null modem cable ,your computer will need to have a 9 pin seriel port (or rs232 port ) it will be the same as on the back of your box .if your computer is newer and has no 9 pin seriel port (which is most likely) you will need either a usb to seriel adaptor cable and driver(the driver is software that will either come on a disc or you download it )or you will need to use an older desktop computer. if your computer is vista then you will have a problem flashing the box with it using the usb to seriel cable ( vista compatability issues)in which case you need to use an older dsektop. and another problem is the box you have will no longer work very shortly( look at the thread nagra3 where we stand )you will find it in the list of updated threads or via the search banner above center. in fact the box may already not work or have lost channels .
hi thanks for reply i have an old desktop which i could use,which is on xp would it be better to do it on that ?once ive downloaded all the software how do get it onto the box?
crag take note of what i said above ,that box has only weeks or months left and it wont work after that ,if its new go back and ask for your money back (you can of course try and get it to work but is it worth the effort) or if you have broadband ask for your money back or ask for a dreambox dm500s instead of the eurovox maxv . the shop that sold it to you would know the box is on its last legs and so should not be selling them to any one .get a dish fitted for the free to air channels on the sky satellite (just a dish only )and then hook the dm500s up to it . you will have all the free to air channels all 4 bbc channels all 4 itv channels ,channel5, film4 and lots more . now have a look at this thread (shy channels on sat with dreambox 500s) you can find it in the list of updated threads or type it in to the afterdawn search banner above enter and click on go.
hi my eurobox came today,so i plugged it into my tv plugged in the cable wire and powered it up and i get nothing!!! all that it does is say PEAA i get no picture on the tv screen nothing is this write or do i need to do the firmware before the box will even so menu on screen ???and also were do i plug the cable wire ?
its not likely the box came with the firmware as that would be illegal and the shop that sold it to you would be in big trouble if they were caught selling boxes like that . click on the link in my signature area and choose eurovox maxv ,you will either get an all in one file containg the loader and the firmware (a ufl file) or the firmware will come seperate to the loader ,the loader is called dnupman .you will need a null modem 9 pin cable and a computer with a 9 pin port on it .better to use a computer with windows xp and not vista.
