LT Switch - Advise on cutting the traces.

I just wanted to check something,

I have a multimeter for testing this and I wanted to make sure I'm testing it in the right place. I have set it to OHMS and I put the two ends in the two holes shown in the picture below:




This gave a reading of 0.00

I know this sounds like a stupid question but is that the correct place to out the multimeter to test it? In them holes?

Anyway I made the cut and it still shows 0.00 when tested. I can see the copper, am I supposed to go through that? I went over it a couple of times but to be honest I don't wanna push it to much a cause some damage without knowing that what I'm doing is right. I'm just using a stanley knife, I'm assuming thats ok?

You are doing it at the correct points, i always take a bit of the green stuff off and test it on the track rather than in the holes.

The LT switch is a piece of crap. Use the vampire probe. PLus you only need 2 cuts with the vampire.
