The PlayStation Move, Sony's contender in the motion controller market, was just announced last week, and Sony has already released an ad mocking rivals the Wii and Microsoft's Natal.
The Move is used in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye camera and allows for real-time tracking of the player's body movements.
The system should retail for under $100 when it becomes available later this year.

That was a pretty funny advertisement, it will be interesting to see how long the whole "motion-control" actually continues.

Seems you didn't know this but Sony has been working on Motion Control with a Controller Input Device for about 10 years or so (since nearly the beginning of the PS2) and should be credited with actually influencing the Wii, XaviX and definitely Natal.

Oh, I love these commercials. Companies usually mock the best, so it tells me what to buy. Nintendo's hardware quality strikes me as excellent. (I don't mind the low resolution.)
I'm wondering how many people with cameras scanning their living rooms will want to network their game machines to Sony and give them control? :-) (We all remember the Sony spyware with the GPL label.)
Corporate officials, other than Toyota, don't often think of moral integrity being important in business. I'm wondering whether it will prove so.

You guys are right. I remember MS and Sony laughing at Nintendo, and now they are copying them! These add-on functions typically fail due to lack of support; it's been succesfful for Nintendo because it was built in with the console from the beginning, so it was always a key feature of the Wii.
As for myself, I don't own a PS3, and if I shell out $300 for one tomorrow, I don't see myself dishing out an additional $100 for the whole Move package on top of that.
And these Kevin Butler commercials are funny, but they really work because everyone does feel that Sony is a bunch of egoistical pricks that mock consumers and their competition.

And I'll be honest, I don't remember neither Sony or Microsoft making fun of the Wii or saying that it won't be successful.
And with the video I provided, if anyone is copying anyone, the Wii had copied Sony.

I admit Nintendo didn't announce their remote until 2004, but that does not mean they wasn't in development way before that. It take years to perfect what Nintendo did. Anyway going back to the PS3 new motion controller, who in their right mind want to hold two color balls and swing it around like a clown. LOL>
As I said before Sony has been working on Motion Control with AND without a controller input device (BOTH Wii style & Natal style) over 10 years ago...I am not saying Sony is the inventor (that is down right retardedly stupid to believe) but I am saying they INNOVATED this successfully (with EyeToy & early dev of PS Move) on consoles LOOONG before the others.

Ya but nin made it popular :P.
Thats the only reason why the other 2 are even trying to upgrade theirs to some form of it....
Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

The Wii got ripped because of people looking stupid and look at where it is now.
Now, no doubt Natal will look stupid since you'll be standing in front of your TV doing weird actions.
With Move, at least you can see that you have controllers in your hand.
