I did a quick Google search regarding BioShock and its New Game Plus feature (since I bought the game just about a month ago; late bloomer, what can I say), and I found a lot of contradictory information. I'm wondering if aD can help clear things up for me.
Some folks online say you don't need to buy the DLC content to access NG+, others say you do. Supposedly there's a patch or update or what have you that you need to download, and I'm not sure if it's the one I've downloaded by now (I'm assuming it is, since I have a blacked-out "Downloaded Content" or so icon on the main menu), but assuming I already have it, how do I go about saving the completed game?
I would assume there's a save screen after the credits and the BioShock 2 teaser, but I can't seem to access it, which leads me to think that it might be part of the DLC and I'd have to purchase it.
(But that also strikes me as odd; it'd be kind of head-scratchy if something as simple as NG+ would have to be purchased.)
I think there is a free patch for the PC version, possibly the 360 version as well (i don't know)...I do know that you don't get it on the PS3 version unless you buy the DLC.
New Game Plus is rather useless anyway...you can easily beat the whole game on the hardest setting, and new game plus will not let you get trophies. The only thing it is remotely good for is getting more Adam to upgrade your health and eve beyond normal limits, but why bother?
Yeah, I'm beating it on Survivor already without much fuss, but it's still fun to get anything and everything, you know? As far as trophies go, I don't really care much for them, so whether I get them or not is moot.
