ps3 slim/ps3 fat hdd?

does the slim and the fat ps3 use the same type of hard drive?

Yeah, they both use laptop hard drives, and they both support all but the fattest of laptop drives.

Also, neither has the cooling for a hot, high-speed drive.

doesn't it give an error if the drive is set to sata II(3.5GB) not sata I?(1.5GB)
I thought i saw a thread about that somewhere,like how fast access to the data on HD depends on the model and can cause errors? Its mainly a problem for people who try and upgrade their stock HD's for bigger ones.
