Video Daily: Microsoft Xbox 360 'Game Room' now available

article published on 25 March, 2010

Microsoft's previously announced Xbox Game Room is now available, says the software giant, giving access to classic arcade games for the 360 or the PC. The service will eventually have 1000 games available by 2012. Most interesting is the pay structure, which will be either 40 MS points for a single play (like at an arcade with quarters) or 240-400 points to own it. Vid via Joystiq: [ read the full article ]

Are you serious? 800 points = 10 dollars, 400 points = 5 dollars, and thus 40 points = 50 cents. This is the price that points cost, period. They are not more expensive. So it is 50 cents a play. I guess they just assume most people know how to calculate the cost of points accurately.

Yes, but in order to use 40 points, you have to first purchase the minimum amount of points. I don't know how the US system works, but here in the UK I would have to spend £4.50 to first be able to play a game that is only 40 cents. It's an unfair system, and the only way it is designed like that, is to get more money out of people. As simple as that.

In my opinion, the 360 ought to adapt the system that the PS3 uses. Simply pay for what you want to use, and no extra. Easy. And I don't own a PS3.

just to let you know if you want to purchase something on the ps3 that is lets say is $1.50 you have to buy a minimum of $5.00
the remaining $3.50 goes into your PlayStation wallet plus you have to pay tax on it based on country and state so a $10 purchase would cost me $10.95 but you can buy exact amounts above $5.00 say its $27.36 you can buy exactly that

so they are both flawed and have similar issues but i do like the PS3's purchase system better

but one Xbox needs to implement is exact point purchases (ex purchase 480pts) cause i have 20 points on my account and what do i use 20 points for I Mean WTF
