I am looking at getting a 60GB HDD to stick in my xbox.
Can someone help me out with these questions


What requirements will it need to meet?

Are all Maxstor hard drives good for xbox use?

I am looking at a 60gb maxtor. How many game backups will that hold?

any help is appreciated. thanks

maxtor are very good for xbox as they all lock(please dont get pissed of if they dont, but they have been good to me)

60GB will hold between 10-20 games, sory for being vague but the size of xbox games is really quite different.

unreal championship=about 700mb
star wars knights of old republic=about 4gb

ya the size of game matters like gta was about 700 so round it to a gig and u can hould about 50 and brute force rounded to 5 gigs then u only get 10 so it varies
and i suddgest seagate tehy are a better harddrive and its the one that ariginaly came with the xbox so its more likely to fit right.

I've installed both in many boxes and they work fine. Search the posts for a link to hd list. It lists which models are lockable. So far with Maxtor and seagate I haven't found one yet that can't be locked. Doesn't mean they don't exist, just my personal findings. I'd wait/search for a sale and go bigger. No sense kicking yourself in 2 months. I just got a 120gig maxtor for under $100 with a $30 rebate. $70 plus shipping once rebate check comes!
