iPad already jailbroken thanks to Geohot iPhone hack?

article published on 28 March, 2010

George 'Geohot' Hotz, the teenage hacker known globally for hacking the iPhone, has said this week that the iPad may already be "jailbroken" when it hits customer's hands on April 3rd. Dubbed "untethered jailbreak," Geohot says "the jailbreak is all software based, and is as simple to use as blackra1n. It is completely untethered, works on all current tethered models(ipt2, 3gs, ipt3), ... [ read the full article ]

What's the point! Just be an honest person and buy things HONESTLY! there is a true saying, what goes around comes around. Believe me when I say that it is True.

People are just not satisfied with what they got anymore. It's called GREED, hungry to have everything. Yes you may pay a pretty penny for the Ipad but why mess around with it just like the fools with their Ipod Phone's and Ipod Touch. It would be awesome if Apple unleashed a code where all hacked devices were made redundant.

Lol.
Apple would literally die if they disabled ALL jailbroken/unlocked iPod Touch/iPhones.

I don't think you know what redundant means because it would actually be cool if my 'hacked device' were made redundant. If Apple included even half of the features in the stock firmware that I have access to from my JBed phone, I would not have jailbroken in the first place.

Like I said, what's the point?

What more could I have expected from Free Loaders.

I hope you all come to your senses one day. Hopefully it won't be too late.

Peace to you all. I think.

Do you even know the difference between something that is Hacked & something that is Pirated? Yes something that is hacked CAN be/have pirated items, but that is not the only purpose of something being "hacked". Just using the iPhone as an example, you can "hack" it to be able to use it on a different network ~ does that = piracy or "freeloading"? Nope. Or how about "hacking" it to allow tethering that was at one point allowed and then removed ~ does that = piracy? Nope. Does being able to use applications that are written for a specific purpose but not approved by Apple that are very much needed by those who use them = piracy or "freeloading"? Again No. Not at all. The point is that something that is hacked does not = freeloading in every sense or finality.

Thanks for your comment and a very well structed arguement I must say. With reference to your comment 'CAN be/have pirated items' = the strong possibility of piracy and freeloading, so by stating that hacking does not = freeloading is not exactly a conclusive arguement.

So you disregard the overall point simply because of pride it seems...and with that I see I shouldn't waste anymore time on this.

Agree, someone's obviously so concerned with the 'well being' of Apple and ensuring people don't use their precious product other than for what it was intended, assumes it must be piracy. As if Apple even cares :S

it wasnt meant to be conclusive. he was just merely stating facts. "the strong possibility of..." does not mean that, "there absolutely is..." and is also not a conclusive argument. but i am interested in knowing your opinion of what a 'conclusive argument' would be.

Dude please. There is not such thing that "what goes around comes around". Logic will tell you, and if you have lived long enough, that NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE and how many people you do good for that bad things will happen to EVERY SINGLE PERSON LIVING.

It's called the law of averages. If you drive long enough, you will have an accident, if you go out enough times to a club or party, you will get into some trouble, if you drink enough times, your liver may fail...if you study the right way and enough, you may pass calculus 3. It is all relative. Just like snake wranglers, if they mess around with snakes long enough, they are bound to get bit sooner or later.

There is no such thing as bad karma, just things will happen to anyone if they live long enough. I don't care if you try to live the life of a saint.

This comment is a pure lack of thought. How are people free loaders? Some people are but hacking a phone to use other software not licensed by apple or affiliates, and then PAYING FOR THAT SOFTWARE /= freeloading.

Of course I cannot deny what you state, but it the decision of that person that ultimately brings their fate. Then the question is why did they make a particular decision. It is quite complex and far to long to explain on here.

Dragon is a stupid fool. Not everyone jailbreaks for free stuff. I do it so I can control what I bought. Buying an Iphone from apple is like buying a car from ford and being told you can't drive it certain places. I like to be able to multitask and change my springboard, and use mywi. Your an ass dragon

It's interesting how some individuals get so heated up over this subject, or simply hoping that someone sees their comment and hopes that that everyone thinks their cool or something. I apologise for upsetting you, but put simply. Leave the products alone and don't get greedy.

Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm surprised that you interpreted my comment 'the strong possibility of' = absolute. I too was not stating to conclude my arguement.

And to answer your question as to what a conclusive arguement is it is as follows:

Conclusive

Belonging to a close or termination; decisive; convincing; putting an end to debate or question; leading to, or involving, a conclusion or decision.

Arguement

a. A discussion in which disagreement is expressed; a debate.
b. A quarrel; a dispute.
c. Archaic A reason or matter for dispute or contention.

Put the two together and you should be able to work it out, if not then I will have to end up charging you for my time.

Peace.

It cannot be greed if said products are being paid for.

As I stated, dragon, some JB so that they can PURCHASE and run various software on that platform.

For those that do it and run pirated software then that is a different story.

I am not sure wht you seem to have a vested interest in this?

Oh and I disagree with A no matter what dictionary online says. A debate and argument can be split down the middle and not specifically the same. Myself and my son can have a debate whereas we have never had an "arguement". I guess it goes with the gold standard that "arguments" are always heated but debates can be calm or heated ..
