Well, I know I defended him a lot, but now I can't anymore. GeoHot is a piece of crap. If his intentions were to open up the platform, this is an epic fail. All he did was give Sony an excuse to screw their customers...and sony does not even need an excuse to do that.
I know this might sound a bit arrogant, but if his goal was just to do what he has already done, then he should have done it in secret and passed his findings along to other hackers to complete the work. If his goal was to do more, then he should get off the pot and do it already, instead of playing around with toys from apple that are already cracked anyway. And if he found that he is simply not able to make a CFW, then he should at least post something like, "Sorry everyone, but we won't be seeing a CFW for a while, go ahead and install 3.30, because you won't be seeing a cracked CFW 3.21 before sony makes 3.30 obsolite anyway" ...or at least he could post, "Note to all - the proxy method does not work, there is currently no known way to play games online with firmware 3.15"...at least that way, the 100,000 people who visit the site every week do not waist a bunch of time trying to get the proxy method to work.
Dont feel bad mate for defending him, i believe that we all had in the back of our heads a little hope that he will do it.
Is simple as that, Geohot doesn't have neither the means, neither the intelligence/ knowledge (i dont mean that he isnt smart) i mean that he is 1 and sony have 100 "well payed" people on this.
and Sony is willing to sell her soul rather seeing PS3 get hacked.
Since I don't play online anyway - it's overrated, I think - I'm willing to wait. For some reason, my playing time has gone down just as my games-to-play stockpile has gone up, so I still have a lot of catching up to do. I suppose not having PSN access does suck for demo/video/etc. purposes, but I'm willing to wait it out. I feel worse for you lot than for myself.
