hi new to consoles. Do i have to buy the xbox360 wireless adpt or can i use a belkin "N" to go with my belkin router?

If you have a wireless N router, you can either buy the MS "N" adapter, or the older one that's B/G, but you can't buy a Belkin wireless USB adapter that plugs into the console.

The MS adapters are not the only options for wireless on the 360, but they are certainly the most convenient as you can't just buy any USB wireless adapter and plug it in.

If you wanna save $60 on that adapter and have a spare router laying around you can flash it to dd-wrt firmware and run it in client mode. This basically has the router act like a regular wifi adapter and you just run your ethernet cable into it.
