I want to transfer my save files to a new PS3, but as far as I know, you can't earn additional trophies off of transferred save files. I know that your existing trophies are saved on Sony's servers, but I am concerned about earning additional trophies on a game I've yet to beat. (I'm a trophy whore).
Some sources say as long as you log into your PSN on the new PS3, you can still earn trophies off of transferred save files. I dont know about that. What about with the new Data Transfer Utility? Using this method, your save files are "cut" into the new PS3. Can you still earn trophies on them?

If you use the "new" method of transferring your information from one PS3 to another via an Ethernet Cable connection then everything should be fine as the only Limitations of the data transfer utility (for a US model PS3 ~ check here for your region) is ~

I just upgraded to a slim ps3. I ran the backup utility on the old one and saved it to an external. Did all of the system updates and socom updates on the slim and ran the restore utility and it looks like it worked as my pics, etc are back. When I logged on to socom, my profile does not exsist so all my guns I've unlocked are gone and I have to start over.
If anyone could help I'd appreciate it!
I logged in with the same psn, etc. Even on socom.com when I log in it says my Assault rifle is at 100%
I did the server trophy sync too. Nothing works.. Please advise
