I have searched and done everything i can think of before hand.

Right well i have flashed 0800 software to benq, everything went perfectly and now drive is picked up in windows no problems... BUT.... Although my drive is visable through windows and it also detects when i put a game in the drive or not... Xbox backup creator will not rip it, i can see the drive from the drop down list but all it states is media not present?? Also to be understanding you have to press unlock the drive but no options at all are highlighted so no buttons can be pressed. Also i believe if you right click on the drive under 'my computer' you should be able to eject the drive(to see if its working) but my drive doesn't eject either. The drive appears to be working perfectly, like i say i can see the game disc in windows(my computer), please help.

Benq drive is powered with CK3 and connected via SATA.

have you rebooted your computer, then hit F2 to go in to bios ..
now turn the CK on and put drive in vendor mode. now hit esc . upon boot up it should be reconized again. win7? run as admin. try api and the other setting see if that works..

Windows XP pro - Its pure 0800 firmware on the drive so there shouldn't be a need for vendor mode right? I've tried restarting computer and like i say it find it in windows and Xbox backup Creater but no media present etc.. however i have not gone into Bios because i use a bluetooth mouse & keyboard so i cant press anything until windows has booted lol. I shall dig up a PS2 keyboard and give the bios a tweek. what should i look out for and change in Bios? Thanks for your input.

I first flashed it with 1.6 ixtreme(coupled with 0800) and then when put into Vendor mode it went into 0800 mode just fine and got detected in windows etc but still having the same problem. I have flashed the drive 3 or 4 times, each time no problem but still cant copy anything.

Download S360X Disc Extract -- http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/xbox360pc/isotools/S360X_V4.1.rar

It's an alternative to Xbox Backup Creator, and worked for me when XBC didn't.
