I was just wondering if I buy a PS3 from Hong Kong, will it be able to run the games I buy in the UK? Or do I need to install a chip or something to change it so it can read discs of different regions?
Ps3 games ARE region free so yes you will be able to play uk games
although there might be regional content block like in japan, uncharted blood would not be displayed even when using a non-Japanese game disc(something like that)
the dvd's/blurays/ps1/2 (if supported) discs have regional lockout
also you might have a problem displaying content on a standard def tv - HDTV's will be ok!

Hope this helps!
How many games are like uncharted blood and have a regional content block? And do all DVDs and blurays have a regional lockout? Is there anyway of changing it so it doesn't have a regional lockout?

All download content is regional locked, though if your buying UK games and downloading from the UK store, you wont have any problems.
Kk thanks, well the main thing I want to do, is play on ps3 games which i will buy in the uk. So that's all good. I would occasionally like to play DVDs on my PS3 as well but if they're regionally locked then it doesn't matter that much, it's not the end of the world. But if it's possible to also play DVDs then that'd be perfect.
