I guess this is an alright place for this. My setup right now consists of my 360 hooked up via HDMI to an Acer H223H. It has builtin speakers, but my wife may just divorce me the next time I play Assassins Creed if I don't find a way to hook headphones up to it.

The only audio port it has is an audio in jack, no 3.5 mm or anything like that. Does anyone have any idea what could do and keep the HDMI config? Special cables, adapters, etc.

if your TV has an RCA output you could get an RCA to mini adapter. The male to male is the most common so you might have to get 2 female to female rca couplers and 1 female to female mini.

Personally my solution was to get a pair of turtle beach x4s. They're wireless, run off your optical port, and actually have surround sound. They're amazing, I never use speakers on my xbox now they're that good. They're like $150-200 new but i got em from craigslist for $60

If you got the combo A/V cable, pry off the plastic casing so you can plug in both the hdmi cable and the A/V cable. You will then need a couple cables like rca to 3.5mm. If you can find one with a female end then you are good but if not, you will have to get a female-female connector. Radio Shack will have all that stuff.

All you need is a simple adapter and a set of good headphones right?
No need to destroy anything or mod this or put the thingymajig in the dillymabob. Simplicity is the smarter way to go..... took 5 mins of googling.

Ahh, but with 30 seconds of reading you would have seen he's using an hdmi cable. ;)

So unless the op wants to go out and pick up an expensive 360 audio dongle, then he just needs to remove the plastic shell from around the av cable so he could plug both the hdmi (for video) and the av (for audio).

Ok same idea...

Never think just because they find this site means that they want to rip anything and everything apart to fit needs as this can and usually does emit problems later

???

Are you even reading any of this thread? He asked for methods and people are giving them to him. Did he mention not wanting to, as you say, "rip anything and everything apart". Shouldn't you let him decide instead of making up his mind for him?

And as for your method, correct me if I'm wrong, but in your first post didn't you say "Simplicity is the smarter way to go". So make up your mind. Which are you recommending... keep it simple or make it harder by spending extra cash and routing extra cables? Have you ever looked in to what's involved with just removing the plastic shell? It takes 30 seconds, you pop off the cover (which will never be seen as it's behind the console) and poof... you're done'

Did you even read the reviews for the splitter you're recommending? That splitter seems to be junk.

Hahaha, ripping apart? The plastic part on the A/V cable is just a few simple snaps. A thin flat head screw driver pops it off in a second and you can snap it right back on. No damage, no ripping.

Thanks, come again.

Yes ripping apart and i do know simplicity when it comes to keeping inermitten problems out of the picture. Just because it can be taken apart to be modified does not mean that every one should do it. He wants methods he has methods. You can have glitches in your system when you do this but when it comes to a well used adapter do not modify or tear apart your only cable that you use any good tech will tell you the same thing.
