I have a question.
I want to make the update to firmware 3.21, but I read the warning and it said that I would lose my Other OS function.
Therefore, I canceled the update and proceded to backup all my data and reformat the hard drive.
I quickformatted it, but I saw that the Linuxpartition was still there, so I thought I had to full format it.
I then proceeded to full format the whole hard drive, thinking that this would remove the other OS partition.
I waited for 5 hours to finish, only to find out, to my disappointment, that it STILL says 64/74gb free, meaning the other partition was not removed.
Now, How the heck do I remove the other OS partition completely???
Should I make the update or will I lose my 10gb forever?
I did the update and there is no option at all about partitions.
I cant think any other way rather than connect it to a pc and delete all partitions without formating it to any kind of file system, just leave it unallocated.
When you put it back to the PS3, it will promote you to format it.
I can't think of any reason to update. No games need it yet, and you can get around the online restrictions with a DNS server. The only changes made are the removal of otherOS and the network speed test...it is a downgrade; not an upgrade.
