xbox 360 to usb update, problem reading files

I got the update on the xbox 360 that allows me to save files from my HDD onto a USB flash drive, however I cannot read the files on my laptop to be able to edit the saves.

is there a program that I am missing to be able to do this? or will I have to wait to buy one of those HDD SATA to USB adapters to be able to read my HDD directly? I'm so confused.

The game saves that I am trying to modify are from the new Final Fantasy XIII game.

Any help that I can get with this would be greatly appreciated, and yes I'm a noob in need of an experts help.

Thank you, I did try it but xplorer360 wont even recognize that my flash drive has xbox files on it. It just says something about no fatx driver?

I don't have one, we just thought that we would buy the 60 GB HDD instead of getting a memory card.
So I have to use a memory card?

You can extract it from the drive. Hook it up to your 6421 via card or use the usb tranfer cable.

ok please don't think I'm stupid, but 6421 via card?
we have a USB cable if that is the same as a transfer cable?

no, there is a special transfer cable that connects to the drive. If not you can take it out of the case. You need a PCI 6421 via card or a compatible chipset for it to work that way. Get a cable $10 on ebay ;)

only if your box was jagged or if you had a memory card and transfer cable.
