Alright everyone. I believe that each console is good, I would rather have a ps3. But I have a 360 so whatever. I bought Tekken 6 on 360 because I loved tekken tag, hated 4, liked 5, and now I have 6. The important part. Is it just me, or does the 360 controller SUCK ASS FOR FIGHTING GAMES. GOD DAMNIT!!! IM SO FRUSTRATED I CANT EVEN PUSH ANY BOTTONS AND I WATCH MY CHARACTER JUMP ALL AROUND AND DO NOTHING LIKE WHAT I INPUTTED. Is it just me? Do I really such that bad... Or is it true, that I CANT PUSH THE DAMN BUTTONS BECAUSE THEY WERE DESIGNED FOR HALO. Let me know what you think.

Overall it's probably the best controller out there. But yeah, the D-pad sucks turtle balls (with a straw).

is there a way to modify the 360 dpad for easier play? Why did they make it shiney and slippery?

Well if you really want to get into fighting games for the 360 then you should invest on an arcade stick.

If youre planning on getting really serious and maybe going to some tournaments then id suggest getting the fight stick, otherwise dont cause it costs too much (unless you have the money to spare)
If not, the XCM controller mods have an improved DPad which does help considerably in fighting games :)
id also suggest buying street fighter 4, as tekken 6 fails.. as far as im concerned there has been no tekken since tekken 5.
good luck:)

Considering the fighter genre is dead or so far from main stream that it don't really matter how bad the d-pad is. And as people have said, if you actually care to play these games then it's best you just get a arcade stick. I'll take the 360 controller over the PS whatever any day.

I'd say that the fighting genre is far from dead and not far from the main stream. New players have started playing fighting games due to Street Fighter IV, Soul Calibur IV, and Tekken 6. I think fighting games are coming back this decade.

Well here Is what I thought of myselt to make it a little easier to controll and definately better for the Dpad. I took a nail file and filed the dpad completely flat instead of arched. Much better controll now. I also filed the buttons flat, and they are much more responsive now too. Thanks for your opinions. Mddg2029

I just replaced my D-Pad with a third party one. Works wonders.. but I mean.. it's tekken?
Nobody plays tekken seriously and I do just fine with the stock d-pad playing it anyways.. hell it even handles me playing blazblue just fine.

A lot of people do take Tekken seriously hence there are tourneys with it. Try to button mash in a tourney and you will lose.

So you've basically GayStationed/Dual-Sucked your controller, huh?

Fantasy's? I think you mean "fantasies".
And by the way:
GayStation was a reference to PlayStation.
Dual-Suck was a reference to Dual-Shock.
(next time I'll type a little slower so you can keep up).

For shooters the 360 gamepad is great with, i love the position of the analog stick compared to the ps3. For everything else I prefer the ps3 controller.

They are total opposites.
360 analogs/bumper/trigger are excellent. Dpad, turtle balls. A B X Y buttons, one turtle ball.
PS1/PS2/PS3 analogs/L1/L2, tortoise balls. Dpad, excellent. X O [] Λ buttons, excellent.
Between the two, you have a perfect controller.
