Noob here. I've looked around the net before posting but haven't found a good answer. So I'm just gonna ask here.I have my firmware flashed with ixtreme 1.6 and I m using the activate iso for wave 4 and up for my backups. Upgrading to 1.61 isn't an option because I'm not too good with taking my console apart and i got my firmware flashed by someone else and i dont wanna shell out again to upgrade.
At the end of Final Fantasy XIII, When the game asks you to insert the second disc, What do I do? Do I take out disc 1, insert the activation disc and then insert disc 2 (burnt as wave 6). (Wont that give me an incorrect disc error?) Some people say that works. Some say it doesn't. So What's the deal with that?
OR
Do I patch disc 2 and disc 3 down to wave 3 with 360 waves patcher? Is that the only way? Also, will doing so cause freezes, etc??
Once the activate disc is inserted you will not need to insert it again until the xbox is turned off. If you put the activate disc in and say are playing disc 1, get to the end and then it asks you to switch to disc 2, you can just put disc 2 in and it will play fine. Once the console is turned off you will need to use the activate disc again before playing anything wave 4 and up.

Well. I tried out what you said. I booted up disc 1. When I return to the dashboard, the game still shows up and is bootable. But when I eject the disc (WITHOUT powering off) and put it back again, I get the play DVD message again. I'm assuming that will cause problems at the end of disc 1? I just dont want to waste a DVD DL, So should I just patch it down to wave 3? I heard patching down can cause freezes, etc..
That is odd, it worked that way for me when I was using flashed firmware. Yes you can try and patch the games down but you might get freezing issues. The best thing to do would be to get the console flashed with updated firmware.
I have never had any problems with my patched games. It's what I am playing with currently.. just don't use crappy media or install the game to the HDD.
I was fine getting from Disc 1 to Disc 2. However, I can't swap from disc 2 to disc 3. It won't read the disc at all and I get the open tray error. I am using the Allstars version. Is there a fix for disc 3? I used the fix for disc 1 and disc 2 but I didn't see a fix for disc 3. Are there alternate versions out there? Help please!

Disc 3 doesn't have a fix. It's fine as it is. If you're getting the open tray msg instead of the play DVD one, it's probably a problem with your media. Try re burning it.
As for me, I'm going to patch it down and try my luck.
