Is there a such cable as an HDMI to VGA cable?

I want to play my XBOX 360 on my computer monitor but my monitor doesn't have an HDMI jack. So i would like to know a few solutions so i CAN play on my Computer monitor.
There is an adapter for this but it's approximately $150...

MS and other 3rd party vendors sell a VGA cable for about $30. The above method would probably work as well, for about $28 cheaper. The only thing to keep in mind is that you won't get any sound if you just use an HDMI-->VGA cable.

You will have to pull sound through the standard cable being plugged in at the same time as the HDMI cable. In order to do this you will have to remove the plastic casing from the standard cable since it won't fit otherwise.

I bought a VGA cable from ebay for $8 shipped. Third party for sure but it came with the RCA connectors so audio wasn't a issue. A couple parts from radio shack and you could hook it up to a stereo or headphones.
