Problem burning DVD-R using MSI DR8-A drive

I have successfully burned to DVD+R and DVD+RW, but when trying to burn to DVD-R (using Nero Burning Rom or DVD Shrink), the program freezes when starting the burn process, the DVD drive light never comes on, the hard drive light stays on, I can not open the DVD drive using the eject button, and I can not even "end task" (W2K), though I can continue to use other programs on the computer. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks!

using DVD Shrink? are you even going on about xbox, because if your not then you should go to the dvd forums.......however i can tell you that some dvd burners are +R only, thats probably ya prob
