Updating my FW to play FF13 backup?

Hey guys. I recently bought FF13 and my friend made a copy of it for me so he could borrow the original. (He lives far away). But when I wanted to play it after I had finished my FF12 on my PS2, FF13 just won't work...It says "Cannot find HDCP link" or something like that...

The last time I flashed my BenQ drive was like 1 year ago i think. Would a FW upgrade get the game to work???

Did the original do that? Google suggests its a problem where your not connected to a HD screen.

I'm not sure of the origional...I just updated my iXtreme FW on my BenQ now, no difference. BTW: When I put the disc into my dvd drive in my PC it has a folder called $SystemUpdate

Other than that, I can't play this game, the XBox wants to play it like a movie >.<
