I own a banned Jasper console which happened after I bought MW2 on release day. I always used to burn my purchased games using my Kreon drive and always stealth checked and played my backups on Live; In addition to rent and ripping. My console was running on iX1.5 and was only out of date because I paid someone £40 for the flashing service and was told I was good to go.
As I miss live and I still have an online account I wish to buy a console very soon. My question is:-
1) As I am new to flashing should I do it myself following the Ultimate Sticky Guide? I can follow instructions if they are detailed enough. Should I pay £40 again or is it cheaper doing it yourself?
2) I looked at X-Box Scene but I get so confused my all the hardware I need, there seems to be 5 versions of an extract tool, PCB boards which all claim that you play backups online/open your console and are compatible with Jungle Flasher. But what peices of hardware tools do I really need please if I was to start from the beginning? (Some people to avoid costs create DIY tools)
3) Lastly to all the people who have played backups and downloaded games can you give advise on generally what you in reality/practise do to avoid getting banned online? Because there are some of you who have played for years and avoided the ban hammer and what precautions you take?
Banned on iX1.5 Liteon. Currently wants to buy a new xbox but does not understand how all this flashing works and will not pay £40 to get this xbox flashed again.

If you can and you don't mind just pay someone to flash it to LT 1:1, that way you get non of the headache lol.
I'm still going strong on live with 1.61, sailed staright through the banwave as well, i take no precautions what so ever, just download, run the iso through abgx just to make sure it is the right file, burn and play, if it's a new release thats not hit the shops yet and can't be verified i still burn and play (online also)
However i would advise you to wait for verification as alot of ppl advise this, my method is quite suicidle and i'm probably only getting away with it by pure luck ;)
Make sure games wave 3 and up are ssv2
Make sure all games have valid splitvid
Thats about it really.

Thanks Sicdude,
Should I also buy a second hand (any) xbox 360 drive, as I have read on these forums that the games will then be ssv2 ripped, where the Kreon does not rip to this standard. Therefore, I should remove my kreon drive and install with a drive that can rip my games to ssv2 standards. I'm googling LT 1:1 btw lol

It seems to be an all in one solution to what I need to connect, extract, dump and open my case without buying all separate tools. Is that what I need to do do it myself? The only reason I am going down a DIY route is to stay upto date with all firmware releases, which was probably the reason why I was banned as I was not upto date even though my backups were stealth checked.
(I used the services from that website to buy the Arita disks which you reccomended ;-), which work great buy the way and are cheap as chips )

This wont do the 8xxx v2 or the 9xxx series drive which you will get with a brand new xbox, you will need the following
1 x 22ohm resitor
1 x 3 way switch
1 x via 6421a SATA card
Follow the Jungleflasher guide HERE You do need a bit of soldering / electronics skills if your doing it yourself, if you are not confident on that I would recommend getting someone to do if for you.
It can also be done with vampire probe but i would only recommend this if your doing more than one drive.
