Kind of a weird one but hoepfully somebody can shed some light on it.

Somebody mentioned to me in passing if my cable box (Starview3) had gone off yet. I said no and had no idea what he was talking about. So I've been having a little Google today and noticed my area (W12) has definitely been switched over yet I'm absolutely unaffected all channels are still there, I still have to reset every now and then but I've been doing that since I got it two years ago.

Basically my last system from c*w is a pair of videotrons meaning we are still on the analogue system...I think.

We received a letter from Vergin saying they will be shutting off the analogue system and we need new boxes but I cant keep my existing plan I have to take a phone line which sucks because I have TalkTalk with free 8Mb bb and free calls to Ireland.

Are they talking balls, do I need to upgrade at all shall I just wait it out or what?

Do you reckon I can ask for the upgraded boxes no questions asked and use the Starview anyway once I get them, or will it change how it works?

Hope that garbage makes sense.

Oh and hello :)

Analogue is going to be switched off, so its up to you if you go with VM or other routes. Your not just on analogue if a SV is working, you have digital coming also for them to work

And no, you wont be able to use this box for much longer, your SV will become redudant, direct cable boxs are gone and dead,

you dont have to take out virgin telephone line but if you dont they charge extra for channels why not pay no subs and just use starview until nag3 change over and then decide what you want to do

Well I haven't phoned them up for obvious reasons "So MrFlan, care to explain why you still have non functioning boxes and haven't upgraded?"

I did noticed the other day they have no questions asked policy? Should I just suck it and see?

@chocco1

That is what I am going to do it was more of why hasn't it affected me and how do I go about upgrading without being fined/banged up/picking up the soap etc
