I'm trying to connect a second tv to skybox. Not having much luck. Is it possible to do this with a coax cable? I understand that doing it this way will only allow me to watch same channel on both tv's. I dont mind that for now.

there are 2 outputs at the rear of the sky box ,but as you say you have to watch the same channel as in the other room.

You just need to run another scart lead to the other TV, or buy a tv link device from argos, or a wireless signal sender.

you can't run coax from skybox to second tv unless you have an integrated freeview tuner in that tv (or an external tuner box at that tv). you need a tuner to modulate the signal from the coax so it can be displayed on the tv. i would suspect that the second tv is in a separate room so using a scart is also not an alternative. the wireless eye tv link device is your best option (even though it is painfully limited)

Of course you can run a coax from the Sky box to your 2nd TV, use RF out 2 with Sky eye.

this is true. was only considering the antenna out connection from the sky box but of course it is possible to use the rf connection instead

It is possible to split the incoming sat coax and direct to two different boxes, but therein lies the problem, youd have to contact someone in the know for (possibly an independent sky installer) another box with a "dodgy" card. ;-)

a dual output lnb and of course a cheap/ second hand box and a lenght of cable would allow you to view atleast all free to air channels in a different room for a small amount of money. you could get sky multiroom if you like (giving you a sky box and a paid for card in room 2) or of course go the cs route ,have a look at the links in my siganture area or the signature area of the top posters .

Sorry to butt in on this but im looking to do something similar.
At the moment i have the free sat in my living room ive had it for about 3 years now.What i was wondering is if i got another free sat box can i connect this to my portable tv in the kitchen somehow by useing some sort of splitter.
my lnb on my satellite only has one conection..If not possible to use a splitter does this mean i have to change the lcb on my satellite if so is this easy to do or do i need a expert.I basicly just want to get the free sat channels on my kitchen portable

dual LNB - One going to the sitting room and the other to the kitchen, just take the other off and replace with a dual LNB, simple to do
