Bricked PSP: When trying to change xmb wave

Hey, I was trying to change my psp wave file and I bricked my psp 1000-Phat. Now all I get when I turn it on is a black screen and a green light. When I put my pandora battery in it don't do anything. I'm going on a business vacation in less then a week and I would like to put some games and moves on my psp to keep my little brother quiet on the LONG drive over there. Please help! Any suggestions will help, I'm open to anything.

When I bricked my psp I was running 5.00m33-6
I have a PSP 1000 & Pandora battery that may or may not be charged. it will not charge the pandora battery but will charge the normal battery.

Need to charge the pandora (or get a new one if its dead)

MMS (Magic Memory Stick) and pandora will recover it

Could I just charge it with psp battery charger? (you know the one that you just plug the battery itself into)
