No matter how I try I cannot get my PS3 to play converted mkv files in 24p. I've tried streaming them directly using ps3 media server without any pre conversion and it only plays in 60hz. I've tried converting to AVCHD files and running from usb with the same results.

No matter what I do with the files, I can only get them to play on PS3 at 60hz. I can play BR movies just fine at 120hz but I can't get any files to play this way.

Why do you desire to play 24hz files at 120hz anyway?

*update*

I was finally able to play them in 24p from a file when I keep the directory in tact on the usb drive in AVCHD format (usb:\BDMW; usb:\CERTIFICATE)

So here's my new question. How do I put a whole bunch of these on the same usb? Won't windows merge the two folders (BDMW and CERTIFICATE) each time I copy a new movie onto the drive? Is there a specific directory structure that I can use in order to archive these for viewing on external usb plugged into PS3? Can I stream AVCHD and keep 120hz?

There is an app for that...but you have to plug the drive into a pc every time you want to change what movie the ps3 can play.

Are you talking about AVCHDManager? I have that but was hoping there was a better way.

What about multiAVCHD? I know that's made for discs but won't it work for hd's too?

I wouldn't say nice find just yet. I haven't been able to get it working the way I would like. I'm trying to make some kind of menu system that can be played from the xmb.

I don't want to have to plug into my laptop to rename directories every time I want to watch another movie know what I mean.
