we are both oversized companies,

And did Apple steal the the other 15 patients from who? My guess is who ever has the most money here wins their suit, so is that HTC?
It would be nice, I must say, to see Apple eat this one but just like MicroSquish they probably will prevail. Also my guess is that a lot of these patient infringements are frivolous. It's beyond reasonable what can be patient these days.
Ditto that. Never liked HTC phones at first, but in the past 2 years they've been making a lot of nice phones (Legend, Desire, HD2, EVO 4G, & Incredible), as supposed to apple; where it's the same old overpriced crap every year.
HTC have been around a lot longer than 2002 and bought out another Asian company that originally made WM smart phones back in the 90's.
I think HTC will have this sown up as they are probably already have the core patents which Apple probably aren't paying for and haven't done so therefore invalidate them from making any sort of smart phone.
1 day Apple is going to sue some company and they'll lose big time I'm guessing it'll be HTC that will destroy their current iphone biz and probably ipod biz as well as these may come under the smart phone patents as well.
APPLE is like the "totalitarian Big Brother" of the cyberworld. They sell you gadgets and then they want to control what you run in it and what you use it for.
