ps3 drive wont spin

well i was playin god of war collection and i turned it off to go eat. then the next day i went to play it and it wouldnt reconize the disk.so when i go online i see that when the drive doesnt spin it won't reconize the disk. so can anyone help get my ps3 up nd runnin again

p.s- i have called playstation and they said they would charge me if i didnt have my recipt. so that wont work

sounds like the laser has died, when it fails completely, the disc doesn't spin

Yep for sure the laser has failed! If the laser in not strong enough to reflect the beam back it doesnt think there is a disc in there to spin. Good luck.
