What should the xbox360 dashboard say when the drive is in the correct tray status to extract the key from a 74850c Lite-on? When the drive is closed, it says "Open Tray"; when it's open, it says "Close Tray".

When I try to get my drive in the correct status it just says "Opening" or "Closing" as if it never actually opens or closes...

Two methods I use, using 360 for power:

-Power on 360
-Eject drive
-Close drive and pull power from drive before it fully closes
-After a few seconds, plug power back into drive
(When looking at the dashboard on the TV it says "Closing"...)

-Power on 360
-Unplug power from drive
-Manually eject tray fully
-Push tray half way in
-Plug power back into drive
(When looking at the dashboard on the TV it says "Opening"...)

The reason I'm asking is because I consistently get the WARNING Bad serial data message...Everything else seems to be fine so I don't think I'm getting the tray part down.
