i am just getting message that this is an original xbox game and you need a software update so go to xbox.com/games.
i did all this and tried to burn update to cd, but when i put it in console i only get eject option, or mixed media files, i have tried 3 burning options, image burn,power2go, and microsoft internal burner. there are 10 files in the folder for update, any help greatly appreciated.
ps: the game i am trying to play is silent hill 2 and it is on the list of games that an update will work with.
pps: i have put this in the xbox thread as well so can someone remove it please, i think it should be here.
Copy the Update to a USB Flash Drive
If you don't have an Xbox LIVE account or have a slow Internet connection, using a USB flash drive is a good option.
Note: The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.
Update using a USB flash drive:
1. Connect your USB flash drive to a USB port on your computer.
2. Click here to begin downloading the update folder. Save it as "$SystemUpdate9199.zip" anywhere on your computer.
3. Unzip the File.
4. Copy the contents from the unzipped folder onto the root of your flash drive.
5. Safely remove the flash drive from your computer and plug it into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console. If your console is on, turn it off, then back on. The update program will start automatically.
6. Select Yes, update now. When you see the new dashboard, you're done.

thanks for reply but i dont have a usb flash drive, thats why i was trying to burn to cd
did you try resetting your 360 with the disk in the drive? I once had a 360 with a bad update installed onto it, so I burned the updates onto a disk, in the special folder they say the files are supposed to go, then resetting the thing. If that doesn't work, you may want to consider getting a USB stick next time you're out, instead of burning more disks trying to get it to work.
