Flashed hitachi drive louder when playing backup games

IT seems to be louder when i play backup games but if i play originals its quieter im just wondering if this is normal? the Games all work fine it is a brand new dvd drive but would like some advice.

When you run original games, the read speed it variable.
firmware kicks in and your read speed only runs at one set speed, hence why it sounds louder.
