It is hard to pirate a 3D movie...at least before it comes to bluray. Thankfully, there have not been any 3D movies that I would bother to pirate released yet.

Most of the IMAX films here cost around $20 to see in Australia.

Yes Zippy, youre right it was. We have to add a $3 tack-on fee in South Carolina if you want to see it though ($18), so that sounds about right. Hell, I thought $15 a piece was bad enough when I saw Ironman 2 in IMAX theatre (my dad never been to a IMAX theatre)

another greedy shower. well you will read here i'm sure in a few months that the movie business made an all time low from this movie. upping the price like this will cause problems for them. just wait and see. and they say it's worth the risk LOL. goodby hollywood.

This is why I go to films only once or twice a year now (Avatar and ANOES), because of ridiculous prices and rude loud people. Popcorn and soda prices are crazy too. PS3 + LCD HDTV = staying home.

Also, since when does AMC Times Square have an IMAX screen? I doubt it's a real one like the Lincoln Square IMAX.

I'm sure this is just an experiment. I remember reading that theaters in NY were going to try and price seats according to location. Kind of like reserved seating at a concert or basketball game. I don't know if they continue to do it, but I know it hasn't spread out west.

Gotta be something worth paying that much for to see it in the theatre... and the last movie to fulfill that hype for me was The Dark Knight, though I still doubt I would've parted with $20 to see it! Sorry Avatar, though amazing and worth the extra $2-3 per ticket for 3-D, if you were $20 I would've easily passed and waited to either buy or rent.

I agree 100%. Movies are getting to the point in which I say, 'Why bother?' They're too expensive most of the time, and a lot of films, quite frankly, aren't worth watching on the big (or small) screen.

Actually, its easier than you think! I have at least 15 3D movies both on DVDRip and BluRay and every one of them is perfect. All you need is the £3.99 optical glasses available at any Gamestation store worldwide and off you go.
Not that I pirate personally, for the record. Or, alternatively, get yourself the new 3D Plasma 42 inch TV and enjoy it that way.
