left and right audio for sound and into TV my problem is that I get good quality sound in both ears through the headset and poor mic quality any ideas on a fix for this? thanks in advance
First and Foremost: Please do not double post threads, as it does not help you get answers any faster.
Secondly: You issue is going to be the USB Soundcard. While the PS3 will run a large number of USB devices, the drivers it contains are generic drivers, so they will not operate devices as well as the manufacturer's drivers would. Sadly, this means that your best bet for a higher mic quality would be to purchase a Bluetooth headset, and do away with your current setup. Don't worry about that too much though, as there are a large number of bluetooth headsets available these days, in every price range imaginable -- but like anything else, you get what you pay for. The best cross point between good prices and good headsets is going to be found in the $35 to $60 range. Any of these headsets should provide you with good battery life, range, quality, comfort, and reliability.
I use a turtle beach PX21. It comes with a USB soundcard that works with the PS3,PC and 360. I used to use the original P21 and I had problems with a couple outright failing. So far everything has been smooth sailing with this set. I used to use the Sony bluetooth but it is irritating having a earpiece in your ear all the time. With the price of the bluetooth being fifty dollars, I would say it is not to much to pay $70 for a headset that is multiplatform with a soundcard.
