hi all had a 360 on cfw been great for a long time now but got 3 red lights the other day and could not fix it. so i had a brand new Elite so went ahead and put cfw BenQ iXtreme LTv1.1 Firmware just went on xboxlive and got the ban?? is this a new ban wave or just me. feedback welcome guys

You get a console ban or a account ban? A picture would sure be nice to confirm it either way. Also, what drive was it? I assume a liteon v9xxx.

yes its a console ban how do i put a pic up for you too see? the console is about a year old but it has never been out of the box until today and it was a benq drive in it

Well, that sure confirms it. So was your new 360 like sealed in a new box you bought from Best Buy or such or was it a used 360 you bought from gamestop or such?
Say you bought it a year ago, whats the manufactured date on the back of the console?

Well a new elite would have Lite-on 9xxx series. Just to confirm, you ran all your games through ABGX and manually patched the SV2 files right?

got it from a pc shop i am from the uk. on the back of the xbox it got 2008-08-18 it is new i would not lie and its a benq got the white wire

well that sucks... out of curiosity, was the FW you dumped the original firwmare, or was it modded before? have a hard time believe that it was like flash, boom, insta ban. not saying you are lying about it, but havent seen/heard of an immediate console ban

So far your claim seems legit, however, you'd be one of the first to be banned with this firmware so we'll have to wait and see if anybody else experiences the same thing, as the claims would start flooding through soon if it was indeed the firmware that flagged you.
*edit* just because you never opened it doesn't mean someone else didn't before you, especially if you bought it from a small non-chain store. Most will refurbish units and rebadge them as new consoles....at least here in the U.S. it's a common practice. The company I'm contracted with does this but lets the customers know that the consoles have been worked on.
It's probable that your unit falls into that category and someone before you got the console flagged. Also, as we all know....images must be run through abgx and everything must be patched/confirmed, split vid, and SSv2 (recommended)
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

hi guys thanks for the feedback. when in bed last night i was tryin too think if i did any thing Different from my other 360 i put cfw on and all i did Different was put some whisper fans on it i don't no if that would get me the ban? or like some of you are saying it was already banned cant say now can i or can i find out? as for split vid, and SSv2 and so on it had a new hard drive so did not have chance to try games on it to get the ban so had too be the cfw the whisper fans or already banned Which One i don't no guy's :-(

Ok, based on the evidence of you buying it from a local store and the date being 2008-08-18, I'm going to say they lied to you. The date shouldn't be no more then 3-4 months before you bought it. So say you bought it in May 2009, I'd say it be hard to find a 360 from Jan 2009. Getting one way back to Aug 2008 is just fishy as all hell to me.
And they could have easy put back the original firmware. Sorry man but as MS says, be super extra really careful of buying 360s from sources that might not be totally legit.
MS will not tell you anything about a banned console so its impossible to know if it was banned before or not. Evidence is just too strong to think it was a instant ban.
