PSP CFW 5.50 Won't Play UMD's anymore?

So I hacked both my cousin's Phat PSP and my Slim PSP. Now we both have been playing downloaded games for a while so we haven't tried UMD's. Now when we have tried, I realized it won't start. Now I know we can download PSP ISOs, but my cousin has Gamefly and would like to play some UMD's instead of always having to DL ISOs.


I press the UMD button, then it loads the PSP Rainbow Logo thing. Then it goes black. The disc is still spinning inside but nothing starts. I doubt that the laser is broken, otherwise it wouldn't load the music and graphics you get when you hover over the UMD selection.

I have tried changing the UMD ISO Mode, moving the laser (without touching the eye of course), and using a different disc.

Any help? or am I doomed to always having to download ISOs.

Did u tryd to go to OFW 5.50 with pandora ?
before that i doubt that`s a hardware related error.

Well, I tried and it does play the UMD. But is there anyway to be able to play the UMD's on CFW?
