My friend just got his 360 jtagged and xexmenu wont load just freezes at a black screen when the external hard drive is plugged in but if it he starts it up then plugs the hard drive in it all works and he can play games is this normal?

Just remove the game save from the unkonown profile in the system preferences menu.
