Hi Im new to burning Dvd's. I have figured out how to do it. Ive burned 2 disks so far and both work. I used to search engine to try to find out about the speed of disks and how it affects the quality if it does at all, and cant find anything about it.

Anyways my first media purchase was a 25 pack of TDK 2x Dvd-RW, I figured i better start off with some RW's incase i messed up, lol. I since have learned that Ritek and Verbatim's seem to be the preference around here. So I will buy those next. However what speed should I buy 4x My burner is a NEC ND-2500A which burns up to 8x should i get high speed disks instead of the 2x i have now? Or would that result in a poorer quality burn? Thanks in advance for your time and help.

No it will not result in poor quality at all as long as the discs are of high quality. Also be sure not to have any programs running in the background while the burning process is taking place.

so the speed of the burn or the speed of the disk doesnt have any effect? Only worry about the disk quality correct?

yes as long as it is a high quality disk it will burn at 4X with no problems at all. Many people even burn 4X disks at 8X with no problems.
