Hey I was thinking about buying this game but worried about shelling out the $60. Anyone played this? Opinions on it?

Its not bad, but the game we where expecting it to be since its first inception was thrown out. so if you where following the game since it was announced its a bit disappointing but not bad overall.
thats my opinion. different people have different tastes

I hate when they do that! Oh well, like when they first introduced Borderlands and it wasn't all cell shaded. Well that's good to know, I'm still interested in it though. Thanks for the input.

I really liked it, only took 3 days to finish on normal though so you might want to rent it first.
One of my favourite games of the year so far.

I really liked it too. It's a good length for a single player game, but I don't think you'd want to replay it that many times, maybe twice to play the Nightmare difficulty (unlocked on your first play through) and any collectibles you might have missed. Buying it new gets you a code for the first DLC chapter released in July and there is 1 other chapter announced at the moment which will be coming later.
Oh yeah - If you can get a good price on the collector's edition, it's worth it IMO.

great game not worth $60. As stated above 2-3 days and you're done. Very few games are worth $60. Just the reason I don't buy games LOL

awesome game im a huge fan of the max payne creators. like above i would rent it though. After u beat it like someone said u might not wanna play it a bunch.

Ye mate this game was good but........can be abit teediuss after a while coz all u have is ya flashlight ,plenty of bullets for ya gun hanging about ,but make sure u keep the best till last,i sum the game up as silent hill with a difference

I enjoyed it too. It can get repetitive as the enemies don't get too varied, but the story keeps moving and once you are past the first main forest area, things start to get different.
IMO, it is a mix of: 1 part Silent Hill, 1 part enemy behavior/AI from Resident Evil 4, 1 part Twin Peaks, 1/2 part Outer Limits tv show, blend well, refrigerate till around 50 degrees (Washington forest climate) and serve. lol.
But if you like anything that feels like Max Payne, with emphasis on atmosphere, character development and supernatural horror genre, you'll probably like this. The new DLC coming out looks good for giving it some more replayability also.
