I was wandering, I have an Xbox 360 Arcade machine (256mb internal memory), updated to latest dashboard and this is really a two part question.
1. Noob question (I just wanted a final answer on this) can you install games on a USB flash stick/External HDD ? (Cause the disks run like crazy in the tray)
2. I plugged in my 4 GB Flash stick (FAT32), configured it with the Xbox. Now I can see the USB displayed in my system settings > Memory, no problem there. The problem is when I go to install my SuperStreet Fighter IV game it says "No Storage Device Found" or something like that. Does it not recognize I have a USB storage device and internal memory unit because my Xbox is stuffed ? or It doesn't recognize the Storage devices because they are too small in size ?
I would like it if I get a definite (factual) answer, I would test my theory out but have no money at the moment to buy my self an 8 - 16 GB flash stick, or a External HDD.
Thanks.
EDIT: I did ACTUALLY update my Dashboard through my Just Cause 2 game (which was like 8xxxx) with a iXtreme LT flash firmware. Then I downloaded the update (9xxxxx) from Xbox site. I don't care if I am banned on Xbox LIVE, never play or will play on it. But now I am thinking did it just disable my chance of installing games ? but that shouldn't matter, cause the update lets me install games on the USB/External HDD (not the Xbox HDD)
Yes, you can install games to a USB stick/drive, so it's probably a size issue in your case. If you get an 8 or 16 GB stick, you'll be fine. Make sure you get a decent one in terms of read/write speeds though and don't just buy the cheapest you can find.
