So I have a flashed Xbox 360 with Hitachi drive and I believe it has iXtreme 1.51 FW.
My question is, would burned original Xbox games work on my flashed 360? And if yes, then how should I burn them and what sort of DVD-s should I use?

Yes, you can play orginal Xbox 360 games on a flashed 360. I recommend using Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x, I have not seen any negative reviews on this brand. You can find these DVDs at Best Buy or Sam's Club. As far as how to burn them, I'm not sure if I'm able to give you the layout on how to do so. This is a great site for information, one that will ban you if you disrespect there terms. However, you can Youtube your questions, and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.

Yes you can, but you have to install an emulator to run the games. You can read about which games are supported from microsoft's own website link

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

I believe I already installed it, but should I use single layer, or dual layer DVD-s for original Xbox games?

lol You have to burn them onto a dual-layer disc. It's a lot of trouble and kind of a waste of a DL disc just to play a back up. You should probably just buy the original. It will still play on your modded xbox. They are really cheap now.

I wish that I had a dollar for every time that this question has been asked but not answered.

I have some XBOX game that play on the XBOX 360 with Microsoft's update. I have tried to burn backup copies to protect my originals. I cannot get the back ups to work. I have tried dual layer once with the XBOX layer break and once with the XBOX 360 layer break. I tried DVD+R with the XBOX layer break.

More than I want a dollar for every time that this question has not been answered, I want an answer.

Insisting that the question has been answered somewhere is at best unhelpful and sounds pretentious.

So does not searching for the answer!

I found this link in 2 minutes, you could too if you bothered to search

Click Me!

Just a quick FYI before you start tho, most xbox 1 games you download off the internet are patched so they will not work in the 360, you are far better getting a original copy and ripping it yourself.

Another FYI, you can use DVD5's if you are running old extreme firmare (5.3 or below)

I found that link. It does not address the problem. I talks about a specific DVD reader and software from 2007. People use the DVD readers that come with their computers and people use Imgburn.

It may be that the proper structure for the dvd dataset that goes with the iso dataset is available somewhere. I would think that the dvd dataset is not proprietary information and that someone could post what goes in it the way that people do for the DVD dataset which is used to burn a 360 backup.
