I read through some of these threads about people having problems with burning games, and I can't imagine where its coming from... I find burning games very easy.. I've followed the information I've found here, and set up ABGX and ImgBurn, and away we go... I have a new game in 30-40 minutes... and they've always seemed to work without problem..
Now here's my concern... I always run my games through ABGX, and after updating some .ini files, ABGX will report all green. I'll run the game a 2nd time to make sure, and will get all green... I'll then burn and play. Can I assume that everything is patched & ok? Are there still things I need to look for in ABGX, or am I safe? The reason I ask is because I just d/l Skate3, and when I ran it through, I noticed that it says SS version 1.. even though its a Wave 6 game.. I thought only SS version 2 (trusted) was OK, and I'm wondering why ABGX isn't fixing or patching it..?
Like I said, I've got ABGX set up as noted in some of the tuts, Autofix is set to Level3, I've got all the same boxes checked as it says.. etc etc.
Am I still safe? Is it good to go on all green with ABGX, no matter what the fine details say...? Would this game be ok to burn eventhough its SSv1?
Thanks for all the help, and really sorry about the super long post!

The current version of abgx360 can tell the difference between SSv1 and SSv2, but it currently has no capability to know that an SSv1 in certain waves of games is "bad" and to therefore look for an SSv2 to autofix it with. You have to do that manually. If you look at the database of verified games on the abgx360 site, on the extreme right hand side you can see some numbers (usually 1 or 2) in dark blue text. If you click on those, you can manually download SSv2 files (if available) and manually patch them in using abgx360.

Whether you get SSv1 or SSv2 depends on which method you (or the person that ripped the game originally) use to rip games. If you want to be as safe as you can be on Live, SSv2 is "preferred" (c4e's choice of phrase, not mine) for all games that are wave 3 and above, so despite the fact that all of the text is green in an abgx360 log, you're not necessarily safe for Live play. Obviously, you're not "necessarily safe" whatever you do as there's always a risk of a ban when using a modded console online, but you know what I mean. :D

I agree, if you go to Abgx and there is a SSv2 combo available, I would download it to your desktop then manually patch it to stay safe online.

Thanks for the help with that... I was able to patch my game and everything looks fine now...
However, I'm sure I've burned a game (or 2) that I haven't patched, that might have the wrong SS file.... does this pose MORE of risk of being banned, or is it ok? I just went back and scanned through all my other games, and some still say SSv1, yet all my games are wave 4 & up... It also means I've wasted a DL disk...
I haven't been banned yet, but I'm just wondering if I've set myself up...?

I did the same thing, I think I have about 5 games that I've backed up and didnt patch with the SSv2 .bin file. Lucky for me I dont play on line with those games. If I were than I would have to rerip the game and patch it using the SSv2 file, especialy if its a wave 4 or higher. You right tho, it does such to have to waste a DL disk, Verbatim dont come cheap. Do you have the Abgx 360 mod update where it showes the wave in a aqua color?

yes, I've installed the mod to ABGX so that it recognizes wave 4, 5, & 6 games... I even remember putting 2 files in the main directory a while back... I'm not even sure what that was for, but they're still there...
But yeah, I know i've played a newer game recently that only had SSv1, I know this because I went back and re-scanned the .iso through abgx, and it wasn't patched. I didn't play online, but I'm set to sign in automatically when I boot. I don't think it matters though as I had an older console that got banned when I was using a silver acct only.
