faulty backup disk or faulty firmware?

Hi

I have bought 4 backup discs for my new flashed xbox and they arrived this morning, I am having problems getting them to work and was wondering if you had anu advice. The disc spins for a while and then is not recognised as a game but as a DVD, when I then select 'Play DVD' I just get a blank screen with the xbox logo, the xbox plays the original versions of the games fine. I put the discs into my PC, they all contain the folders 'SystemUpdate' 'Audio_TS' and 'Video_TS', contain under 200mb of files and are recognised by the PC as DVDs (but will not play). I am unsure if there is something I am doing wrong, something wrong with the disks or it is my xbox (the box came preflashed with ixtreme v 1.7).

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any advice you are able to give on this.
