Unable to play PSP3 games on my PSP2-help!!

Hi, I have a PSP2. I am trying to play a PSP3 game, Prince of Persia, in my Psp2 but when the game icon comes uo and i press the triangle button, there is an error message "Game unable to start. 20001048."
My psp2 is 5.00M33-4

Can anyone please advise?
Is it because a PSP2 cannot play a PSP3 game?

First of all. There is no PSP2 or PSP3. You must be referring to PSP model 2000 and PSP model 3000.

Second, there is no different games for each model. Every game runs on every model.

As for your problem, the issue is firmware. Your PSP 2000 is using a custom firmware 5.00M33-4, a firmware that is not made by Sony and allows playing pirated games. Sony constantly updates their official firmware which current version is 6.20 and newer games require that firmware.

So if you want to play the game, update your firmware to official 6.20, modded 5.00M33-6 or modded 5.50GEN-3.

However, if you have downloaded the game illegally instead of buying it... updating to 6.20 will not work because obviously Sony's firmware doesn't support playing pirated games.
