360 reading backups as dvd

i have an flashed xbox 360(dont know which firmware bought like this, the only backup i have tried so far is ufc undisputed 2010, it will read it as a dvd, it reads movie dvds, and originals, but not this backup. and i followed a tut on how to burn to make sure i done everything right and everything was green. any thoughts, reflashing is not an option as i dont feel like it, i am used to the wii which to me seems alot more simple to deal with. thanks for any info

The problem is more than likely you have older FW installed on your drive which will not read the newer games. If you CBA reflashing, then your best bet is to patch the disk to a lower wave.

Ok I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I would say either you have an old firmware, one that doesnt support the newer wave games, in which case you need an activate iso, or you have a bad burn, are you using Verbatim discs?
I would burn off an activate iso and then try that first, if it doesnt work and you need to try burning another copy, it wont hurt to have an activate disc incase you have ixtreme 1.61 which doesn't let you play games you stealth patch, the iso has to be unaltered.
Not a great answer, hopefully someone else can give you more of a direct answer then my guessing/suggestions.
Try and find out what firmware you have as it will help people figure out whats wrong.

see the problem with that is it was bought of ebay with rrod i fixed and the person that had it said that they cant remember but they think its 1.5(which i understand is out of date) they also said a few months ago they were playing cod modern warfare 2 i think, i was just going to keep this console if it would play backups but if i have to reflash then i will just sell it, because i am not opening the only computer i have and trying to flash an xbox, thanks for the help oh and yes i am using singapore verbatim dl, and imgburn.

try the guide I mentioned, if its 1.5, this only supports wave 1 & 2, for wave 3 and above titles you will need to patch the disk. If he's played COD on it then he's prolly patched the ISO. Just so you know, patching the ISO will prolly get you banned.

yeah, i will give it a try on patching, downloading the patcher now, i only have two more verbatims though so i got to do it right, thanks for your help, i dont care about live anyways, i dont want to have to pay for something like that, boy it would be nice to load games off an external hdd like the wii(so easy)lol

ok, i used the patcher and patched it to wave 2 and then agbx and burned it on verbatim and it works like a dream, so thanks for all the help. but i read somewhere that i am not supposed to run it through agbx after patching because it would fix the disc is that true it worked for me, thanks

ok anybody got some advice for this? ive heard that the only way you can play burnt games is to flash or mod the xbox, which is not an option for me cuz i dont know how to do that and dont know anyone local who does. but someone told me that if you have a bang q? drive that it will work without mod. anyone know anything about this? any advice is greratly appreciated.
also what exactly is firmware and how do you determine which one you have? sorry guys im not exactly pc literate. i know enough to dl movies with utorrent and convert them to a format i can use with windows media center.lol...noob central, right here!!!
