article published on 19 June, 2010

Siliconera has posted a picture this week on how the game cart for the Nintendo 3DS looks, and unsurprisingly it looks very similar to a standard DS cart. The new 2GB 3DS carts are the exact shape as a standard DS cart, but with a small tab in the corner. Additionally, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has hinted that the 3DS may be getting an e-reader app that works with the handheld's built-in ... [ read the full article ]

Carts? I knew Nintendo was behind the times, but WTF! Oh wait...they don't use carts...they use CARDS! Big difference there. This is like calling an SD card a cart!

No it isn't.

Why would you want TV-out on a handheld, most of all one that used 3D imagery that your TV probably will never be able to display properly(even with glasses).

Cartridges are really a smart move. Disc based games on a handheld are a bad idea, even sony took that out in their psp go. Cart games are a lot better for battery life, and not only that but also cartridge based games load faster. Stop crying.

I normally hold a good amount of respect for you, Zippy, but you really have no friggin' idea what you're talking about here...

That said, I'm hoping they'll eventually break that 2GB mark. The PSP has been held back by that 1.5 mark for too long as it is, it'd suck to see the same thing happen here.

Ok its a high end SD card with better data rates and security..... they are still missing the point of just how much data you can put in a card that size.

What they are doing is making a 1.5 system(the Game cube was the last well made Nintendo console) yet again, they just can't get away from being cheap(even at a 300$ price point). And 3D is made of fail, its a waste and time and effort they would have been better without it cut 50-100 out of the price could have put another nub in and do 2 touch screens, screens and a TV out...or a WII adapter so I don;t have to squint....
