Hi I have been researching about how to flash the liteon dvd drive. From the tutorials people seem to use a probe which I don't have. Is there anyway I can connect the dvd drive via sata cable from my motherboard and dump all the information I need thorough that?? Help will be appreciated!! thanks! =D

There are 3 ways to flash on of these drives, the best method is debatable

1) Use the probe, to get the key dump.

2) Cut traces on the PCB, solder on a resistor and switch to dump the full firmware

3) Cut the traces and use a Vampire probes or similar to dump the full firmware

The last 2 dump the full firmware, where as the first one just dumps the key.
