Hey,

Firstly, I would like to point out that I have seen and researched many posts and threads on this, and I can only imagine everyone has a headache, but I would like an answer to my setup and a final stamp on this issue.

My Xbox 360 is sitting (laying across) on-top of the Xbox's box dented on the top so air can pass in and out beneath it. I have it placed about 50 cm away from an open window (directly across it) and on either side their is more then enough room for it to breathe.

I play the Xbox for about 2 - 3 hours take a break say for an hour or two, and go back to playing it for another 2 or 3 hours. Maybe some days I play it longer.

Anyways is the intercooler (the one that plugs in with a separate power supply) good?, best intercooler?, is it Bad ? Should I get one (from ebay - Aussie buyer try and get a non-chinese one hopefully) I don't care about voiding my warranty (already have).

I have the Jasper model Xbox, manufactured I believe in November 15 2009. (I think the new one)

thanks for answers sorry for long post. I know I am overdoing it but I really don't want an RROD (try preventing it as much as I can) Bought the 360 200$ and got it modded 150$ (I know rip), don't want it to go off at me and lose all that money.

Dont bother with the intercool, you have a jasper so you should be fine.

any of the intercoolers will make the fans go hyper speed and maybe push the power to limit. they are a waste of money really.

Mods are like games.....GO BIG OR GO HOME!!

waste of money indeed. all they do is push air and everything else into system like animal hair, dust, dirt, you name it. i would just leave the window open and leave plenty of space for it to breathe.

I remember reading somewhere that external fans HAVE to be matched in speed (RPM & CFM) to the internal fans... thats the only way to acheive more air flow. If you have 2 fans, both producing different CFM's, they kinda work against eachother, cancelling themselves out (something along those lines - memory is vague).. but that was what I got from that... they have to be matched, or its useless.
