did you use that null modem cable before to flash any box ??
what pc are you using ist it vista or xp
did you configure your comport
does your pc have a comport
are you using a usb adapter as well as the cable
what comport is the cable attached to

E45 thanks man i did get flashed through one of your question thank u .you are a big STAR.so i have to connect my box to my router ? how ? bcz i have got 4ports RJ 45

Looks like the bust in Ireland is spreading.
Once they connect that confiscated server back up they will capture all the users ip addresses and macs then once they have a word with your ISP UPC come a knockin at your door!
I hope Kryptview servers are not setup in the Distributors home with a home broadband connection lol

They still have to prove it was "me" that connected it up, it was me that used it ect.ect.. "All beyond reasonable doubt"
Then i would have them tied up in court for months with my not guilty plea! Cost them thousands in solicitors fee,
For what!! Them to get me a fine, Money they will never get or see 'IF' im convicted
All they have is my "ip" address, Which is ok a bit of proof!
Ohh yeh..Just in case ill have me star witness tucked away 'neighbour,friend,homeless man' all of whom i let use my broadband for lets say 3-4months
Also they will be talking to themself's (when they have a word with my isp) he he lol
No Serious i cant really see them going after the people who connected up to server, now!!
They got what they wanted The server out of the way
!!But make no mistake!! just because people "may have" got away with it 1s dont mean it will always happen!!!...

Well hopefully thats true and we arent like America suing poor old grannies and 11 year old kids but where there is money to be made and greedy corporations who knows.
If they do bust you make sure your pc is free of Loaders , bin files , clear out your internet history, cookies, swap file and on and on...Better still have a removeable hard disk and a big hammer as that is hard evidence.
Looks like if you want to make a few quid this year put your money in NTL, Bskyb shares as the N3 rollout seems to have increased their profits at an astronomical rate - so many naughty people out there lol and if you were a big company and see even more money to be made then making examples of a few hundred people , get it in the press , frighten most of the souls who would be put off well you can see my point.

As this box requiers a permanent connection to the internets to work can this be achieved very a wireless connection or does this box not have a usb facility to connect a dongle to? in which case hotplugs or a long lan cable would be my only viable option?
Also in terms of a VPN is there any recommended company/site to use? and are thers any tutorials for use numpties out here who can hardly wire a plug let alone setup a VPN

Depending on the distance of your setup, but if its any distance (upsairs/downstairs) then hotplugs would be the best, some folk have reported getting a internet pen modum working on them, but if ya have the net in already, Hotplugs is your man for the job, regarding VPN's there are loads out there, off the top of my head, can't recommend one, but google to see which ones come up tops and have a read about on em
