I just recently purchased an XBOX 360. However, with some of my DVD's, the bottom half of the picture is being blocked by a black box. At first, I thought it was my DVD, but when pulling up the playback toolbar, the black box even covered part of it. I contacted Microsoft support who told me that it was parental controls, which after checking every category under parental controls proved false, as all of them were disabled. I just can't seem to find the problem. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, do you have a solution?
This is your TV. I am guessing you're not using an HD TV either? How is the xbox connected? component? I had this issue on my old TV, pain in the butt. What I did (every time) was hit my menu button on the TV, then closed it. That made mine go away.
I'm not using an HD. I have an early 90's TV which only has a cable port, so I have an external A\V port that plugs into the cable port. HOWEVER, your solution worked. It was my TV, and simply pressing menu made it go away. Thank you for your help Modking30!
