Hi. I purchased a starview 6 recently. Ive followed the tutorial however no joy. Also tried guiness and carling but still no channels are coming up except 1 to 5, bbc 3 & 4 and itv2+1, the rest say "scramble". The ethernet cable is runnung through a wireless router, would this make any difference? I did have a starview 5 which stopped working in July due to virgin issuing new cards for the virgin box. I thought the starview 6 got round this because of the lan port?
Also double and triple checked wires etc and all seem to be ok.

CHECKLIST
1. cable is connected
2. lan (broadband) is connected
3. you presed 8989 on accessory and made sure everything is on/autoupdate.ect..
4. Menu - Option -networks - net application - Ustream
5. menu - options - osd setup - region, england
6. menu - options - network - ip setup, auto (ip address should be seen)
when you say ethernet is running through wireless router
you mean your b.band comes to your router wireless, if yes, i have seen a few that had has this problem
also try a couple of different lan cables
as i had a few that would work on computer but not on box!

Thanks for the tutorial. I have got the box to work but right now its wired directly into my router with ethernet cable, is it possible to connect the box to my wireless router with a homeplug or does it have to be wired?

Do you need a modem or can you just connect straight to router?

If you only have a router yes
Also a few have got them going with just a modem aswell
But you can only use 1 at a time that way (Box or Computer)

Hi All
I got an SV6 box this am.
I started reading this tutorial and already I'm stuck! Why do you have to plug the box into the router? I'm baffled!
I'm not card sharing just trying to get as many channels as I can if possible. Does the box have to be connected to the net even though I'm not sharing?
I'm totally fathomed and I've not even unpacked the box yet SIGH.
Any non techy help much appreciated!

Hi All,
I have the Starview HD box and I have set it up using the the latest software ( carling 0712) and connected it from my router to my box using homeplugs. All good to that point including ip setup on auto and numbers filled in etc, and Keyedit on, But my problem is it will not register to Ustream ( I'm in Edinburgh) it keeps saying Login failed error code (0)
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I dont use a spliter...just one tv, one box, connected direct to main plug of N*L.
I have tried factory reset yesterday, and loaded the latrest file again (17 AUG), ....and now it only freezez for abour 10 seconds...where as before it was freezing for 30 seconds....
any ideas?
and....which box would you recommend for use on SLY? i would prefer a HD LAN box...

Hi there,
Can comeone Please help..
I'm new to here but I had sv6 working fine up until I did a reset on my orange livebox router about a week ago, I had ALL chans, but since the reset I've lost the non fta chans, I have tried factory reset and following the e45 tutorial like I did a few months ago but I still have no luck, I believe I'm in nag 3 area, when I go to options - network - ip setup there are just loads of 000 whereas before I'm sure I used to have ip addresses etc there. I'm getting fta chans fine although pic quality is poorer. Also when I look at a channel I have 'not connected' come up at the bottom of the bar & it used to say connected. All wires etc are all still in their original place.
Any help to fix would be great, going without the kids channels .
Thanks in advance.
